Easter Story - Retelling the story
This week, in the lead up to Easter, we would like to encourage the children to learn and talk about why Christians celebrate Easter. Please watch the link above with your children. To support this available on TWINKL are some story sequencing cards, these can be printed or you can look at them on screen and read the story through with your children.
If you access Twinkl it is free to parents during the home schooling period. Just register with the code CVDTWINKLHELPS and then search under EYFS and Easter story sequencing cards.
Once read to them maybe ask some simple questions to look at the children's understanding of why Easter is celebrated. (if you are able to print the cards you can read the story together then mix up the cards and get the children to put back in the correct order).
Questions to ask:
- Who is Jesus?
- Why is he important?
- What was the name of the town Jesus was in?
- Why do you think Jesus was arrested?
- What was the name of the special meal Jesus had with his friends?
- What did Jesus die on?
- Where did they put Jesus body?
As always if any work is completed on this please add to Tapestry or email to us we would love to see what lovely learning you are all doing at home.
