What's Missing Game? (Focus and Attention activity)
Gather up 5-6 objects (can be anything around the house), and a cloth/blanket/tea towel. Encourage the children to name the objects and then place them under the material you have chosen. An adult then takes an object from the group of objects, uncovers them and asks the children what is missing?
Can the children identify what sound is at the beginning of the word?
This is a good game to practice and build children's focus and attention as they get better at the game add more objects (up to 10), and also why not let them try to be the teacher.
