L.O. To write an informal letter to a character using modal verbs.

Today you are going to write an informal letter to Hogarth giving him some advice about what he should do about the Iron Man.

Your letter will include specific details which can be found in the attached powerpoint and will use modal verbs that we looked at before (should, would, could, might, may, shall, must etc)

It is an informal letter, so think back to the lesson we did about informal and formal writing.  Can you remember?  Informal writing means that it can be quite chatty and use words with contractions i.e. instead of the formal 'could have' you can use 'could've'.

Success Criteria:

  • I can use my best handwriting
  • I can think of what I want to write before I write it so I make fewer mistakes
  • I can use modal verbs
  • I can use informal writing
  • I can include all points on the given checklist
