Writing

Last week we looked at 'The Day the Crayons Quit' by Drew Daywalt. This book is a series of letters to a boy called Duncan from crayons who feel they are over used or under used.

Have a go at writing your own letter. Write to one of your friends, a family member you are unable to see at the moment or to me.

  • Remember to ask questions - these need start a question word (who, what, when, where, how, why, are, did, do etc. ) and end with a question mark (?)
  • Add sequencing to your letter by using the words- firstly, secondly, finally. (e.g. tell them about your day)
  • Also extend your sentences using conjunctions (and, but or, because, that, if, when)
