On Friday some of our Year 6 boys competed in the annual schools Y6 Football competition, formerly known as the NASH cup.
With a new format, it was an amazing full day of sport, with each team getting 13 games of football, all in effort to take top prize, as well as the highest-ranking small school getting their own trophy.
Beechcroft were straight out the gates with an amazing 3-1 win over Atlantic academy, though performances were not maintained, as it was left with a well-rounded set of wins, loses and draw for the final results.
Evan from Y6 was Beechcroft's 'player of the day', delivering a relentless effort in midfield, as well as playing in defence and even scoring from a well place strike from outside the box. It was also a great showing from Jack, Teddy and Logan as they proved to have a wall of defence, alongside Blake, Benji and Nathan who all commanded the midfield. We cannot forget Ronnie "hotdogs" who was fantastic in goal, saving the day multiple times and kept multiple clean sheets.
Mr Fuhrmann, "really pleased with the boys today. It was such a long day and despite our small school status we continued to push all our opponents and even beat the eventual small school winners – Southill - when we played them."
Well done boys, you done us proud!

Also last week, a selected group of our Year 6 pupils represented the school at a local primary schools' tennis tournament. The children performed exceptionally well, winning 5 out of their 8 matches and achieving an impressive 3rd place overall. Throughout the competition, they demonstrated outstanding determination, teamwork and sportsmanship. Mrs B shared how proud she was of the team, commenting that they were "winners in her heart" after seeing the effort, resilience and skill they displayed on the court. We are incredibly proud of all the pupils who took part. Well done to each of you for representing our school so brilliantly!
